Aldo Clerico - Italy

Aldo Clerico grew up right in the heart of Barolo country, amidst his family’s vineyards in Monforte d’Alba.

After graduating from college and starting to work as an accountant, he had an epiphany moment in 2004 when he decided to go back to his roots and become a wine maker . After all, he has Barolo ‘in his blood’, since from grandfather, to father, to son, Aldo is the third generation of grape growers in his family’s 6 hectare vineyard propery.

As a vigneron and wine maker, the knowledge and innate passion he has for making Langhe territory wines shines through when tasting his wines, which are great tasting, age-worthy fine wines that are good-bodied, fruity, velvety, and of undisputed quality. His wines reflect also an ideal terrior, from soil composition, to midday exposure of the vineyards and an ideal micro climate.

Despite his passion for wine and his territory, his family is number one is in his life, collaborating with his wife, Valentina, from the well known Coterno family, and with two young daughters keeping them both busy. As a result, he wishes to ‘stay small’ making 40,000 bottles / year.

Aldo Clerico is located in the Barolo region of Italy in Piedmont.
